Why are my messages so old and I can’t see the new ones?

On your phone go to Settings/Messages/Text Message Forwarding and turn on the switch for your Mac. If you don’t see your Mac it isn’t logged in to the same Apple ID as your phone.

New iMac Messaging Not Synching On my new iMac the messaging app is not synching all messages that are available on iPhone and iPad and old iMac. I have closed the app and reopened it with the same result. It only shows one addressed message that actually had been deleted and does not show up on messages on the other devices.
