Safari 14.1 problem printing PayPal shipping label

I am unable to print a shipping label in PayPal since I installed Safari 14.1. No error message, just sit's there trying to get to the Pitney Bowes address with no success. Is this a known problem?

This seems to be similar to issues others are having after the Safari 14.1 update 4/27/2021 that was part of the Catalina 10.15.7 update and it relates to JavaScript.

If you have recently updated to Safari 14.1 (Menu: Safari : About ) ( note the update may have been automatic ) test the following to help you isolate:

Turn off “Enable Javascript” in Safari: Preferences: Security

See if this resolves the the issue loading pages

This is not a solution since pages are only partially complete and lacks any Javascript functionality.

I have been working on this issue and so far the only current workarounds / solutions are:

1) Use Firefox ( My preferred solution while I wait for Apple to release a fix/update. )

2) Use Chrome ( I avoid due to security concerns and data harvesting by the big G. )

3) Install the Apple Developer preview of Safari 14.2 ( https://developer.apple.com/safari/technology-preview/ ) NOTE this is a preview that coexists with the current version of Safari ).  Since it is not an official release there are risks.  I have tested and it works perfectly opening problem sites.

4) Apple will tell you to reinstall the OS BUT I have not tested and is time consuming...Some people have posted that a reinstall does not resolve the issue.

I am still searching for a fix.

Bottom Line: At this point this is most likely an Apple bug/issue related to 14.1 and they need to offer a fix other than an OSX reinstall  and that reminds me of the #1  Microsoft Windows issue solution!

Hi,

There is an update available as of May 4/5 for Safari 14.1. I have installed and tested with Catalina and it solved all my issues with Safari. It should be available to you with Software Update and no need to Upgrade to Big Sur. I have details on how to get the update in a posting, just scroll to the last entry.

Installing Safari Technology Preview solves the problem for me in the short term until updated Safari is released as stated in Option 3) above ( https://developer.apple.com/safari/technology-preview/ ) . For those troublesome websites simply launch the preview and visit sites. It is fine to run both Safari browsers at the same time too, as per Apple's website: "Run side-by-side with Safari. Safari Technology Preview is a standalone app that works side-by-side with the current version of Safari, so you can continue to use and reference the current release."

I am having this same issue. I used to be able to print labels from PayPal or eBay with no issues. I now click a label to print and the page partially loads, but then hangs. I have to force reload, but it will repeat the issue. With eBay, I can download the labels, then print with no issue. I can't do the same direct through PayPal. I can screenshot the low-res label and print fine from there. The issue as to do with something in Safari and the page loading, maybe in communicating with security or whatever pitney bowes uses for shipping label processing?

Add me to the list. As a rule of thumb...ignore the advice of the first responder...sheesh. I am not pleased that with every release of the OS or some other update ends up causing more headaches than they solve. Using Big Sur 11.3.1 Safari 14.1 on an M1 Mac Mini...

For now, I am stuck creating the PDF in Chrome (yuck) then printing out from Preview. Thanks for adding to my work flow Apple...it just works huh....not since Oct 2011.
