Activity Monitor With Too Many Tasks Running

My MacOS was very slow that I am not even able to watch YouTube. Thus, I had a check through Activity Monitor and discovered that there are too many task running at anytime. Even though I have reset my Macintosh but the issue remains. Here is a screen shot of my Activity Monitor after I reset Macintosh.

What can I do to remove tasks that are slowing my computer down?

Rather than simply guess at what might be causing the slowness, there is a fairly straightforward way to produce a report of what computer resources are being consumed, and by how much. It is a little discovery Utility named Etrecheck. You run it and then it helps you post its report back here.

Your conclusion that "there are too many tasks running" is NOT accurate.

Also, you are also not even showing all the tasks running. You would need to select Activity Monitor (all processes) to see all. Then you will see many more.

The number of tasks running is NOT the issue. What is important (and may be a problem) is WHICH of all processes is using the most CPU. 30 percent of CPU used by system tasks is too much.

The data shown in the screenshot was not accurate, they jumps a lots and their sum might even exceed 100%.

The main problem is that my computer is running so slow that it takes a few minutes to turn on and takes tens of seconds to visit whatever website using Safari. I am not a computer expert so I am guessing that it might be the repetitive tasks that are consuming my "computer running capacity."

One more thing, I got my Mac 5 years ago and would that be a potential cause?
