Can’t force quit iPhone 12

I have an iPhone 12. The apps won’t work and I can’t force close the phone either. What should I do?

After rapidly pressing and releasing the volume up, then volume down, you need to hold the side power button and KEEP holding it until the Apple Logo appears. It can take up to 10 seconds or more, which can seem like forever. Keep holding it.

Try force restart the iPhone: press and release volume up +, then press and release volume down - and then hold power button until you see the Apple logo again.
