How does the new Allow Apps To Track feature work?

I have upgraded to iOS 14.5. In Settings > Privacy > Tracking, I have turned on the Allow Apps To Request To Track feature, just to see how it works.

Attached is an example (copied from the web) of the dialogue box that is supposed to appear when an app requests to track. It's early days, but so far none of the apps on my iPhone have requested to track. So I am wondering, what causes the dialogue box to appear? When you download an app? When you open an app? Or is there is some other event that will cause the dialogue box to appear?

Thanks.

It's a bug in iOS 14.5:

About iOS 14 Updates - Apple Support

iOS 14.5.1

"This update fixes an issue with App Tracking Transparency where some users who previously disabled Allow Apps to Request to Track in Settings may not receive prompts from apps after re-enabling it."

I hope iOS 14.5.1 fix it

The app has to be updated for the box to appear. The first time you open the app after it's updated, it should ask you.

It's not happnening to you only. There's plenty of people with the same issue. According Apple happens when you open the app, but it's not Working.

"Apps must ask for permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites..."

I'm investigating if it's a bug, because it can't be that no app isn't asking, mostly all those we know we track all our data.

Also yet there is no information or link to report apps who do not comply with iOS 14.5 App Tracking Transparency!

Hope this helps and solves your question. Do not hesitate to ask if you need more information.
