App Tracking Transparency not working

Hi. I’ve recently downloaded iOS 14.5 and the app tracking feature in privacy doesn’t seem to do anything. I currently have the toggle switch on to allow apps to request to track, but I’ve had no requests and YouTube is definitely still showing me adverts for things I’ve looked at online.

I was also expecting to see a list of apps which I can toggle on or off in the Tracking screen, but it’s empty.

Can anyone help please?

You need to wait for app developers to enable this feature, most are slow to do it, even Facebook admitted they do that slowly so not all users will see it right away but slowly over some time. Be patient.

Good Afternoon Kingofthepond,

We see that you're looking for assistance with the apps not showing which is tracking your activity, and we'd be like to see how we can help.

We'd recommend checking the App Store for any app updates to see if this will present the prompt to allow you to allow the app to track your activity. For assistance with checking for app updates, take a look at this resource:

How to manually update apps on your Apple device

In addition to checking the apps for updates, if you turn this setting off then back on do you see that apps appear? For more information on how the App Tracking Transparency works, take a look at this resource:

If an app asks to track your activity

If these don't help with what you're experiencing, we'd recommend that you Contact Apple Support so they can look into this with you in more detail.

We hope you have a great day!
