Is it safe to assume that some of the universal iPhone USSD Codes I’ve tried aren’t working maybe because my Service Provider has deactivated them?
Ive asked my Service Provider for an updated 2021 USSD Code List and they said there isn’t one available.
My provider is Spectrum and I can’t seem to find anything on it.
Any suggestions?
I like how they pick and choose what to have accessible and what not.
It did bother me that my carrier decided 6 months in to lock the phones gps location to always be on. Makes me feel like an employee of Apple with a company phone that they keep track of. I feel my current location at any given time should be up to me if I feel like sharing it.

It must have been the last update. The findmy toggle was greyed out and locked to on about a week after the update.. I checked today and it’s now back to normal.
Carriers don’t want you to use USSD codes, because there is no standard for them, and carriers add and remove them regularly. A normal user has no need for them, either, as all of the features your carrier wants you to have will have switches or settings in the Phone app.
Your carrier can’t lock your gps location on. Only an employer who has Mobile Device Management installed on your phone can do that.
And just because location services is enabled that is not sufficient for anyone to track you unless you allow them to.
And you carrier doesn’t need to lock location services on; they always know your location even if location services is off, by triangulation from their towers. In the US they are required by federal emergency services laws to know where your phone is at all times.
