Watch series 5 bright blue screen

Left on charger over night. Went though a few alarms to find that the brightness was maxed out on a dark morning. Watch seems to function and notify. Touch still works because I can slide the right spot to turn off. Here's attached picture. History is being in a waterproof case all its life. 1yr 5 months from purchase.

Hardware issue? Scratch is screen protector, no known hard impacts.
