How do I stop mail from downloading on my old Macbook?

I recently bought a new Macbook Pro. I transferred everything over from my old Macbook Pro. I want to give the old Macbook Pro to my husband, but I don't know how to stop receiving emails in the Mail app on the old computer. I don't want to get rid of the accounts, because I use them on the new computer. When I open the Mail app on the old computer all of my emails still download.

Thanks for your help. I was not able to right click on the account, but I did figure out that I could just uncheck the boxes "mail" "calendar", etc., that were to the right of my email account name. That kept the mail from going into the mail app.

This does not seem to remove the account, but it may be all that is available:

On the old computer | Right click on the account | Edit "account name" | Uncheck Enable this account
