iPhone 12 Pro Max no longer charges wirelessly

My iPhone 12 Pro Max, running iOS 14.4.2 decided overnight that it will no longer charge itself via wireless charging. It has been fine until now - I have been using Qi chargers throughout the house with no problem until now. I bought it on the 25th February 2021.

Phone still charges via USB - have tried with case on with case off (I use a slimline plastic/rubber case).

Qi chargers still work with other phones. Just not mine. It seems like the iPhone just decided it doesn't like induction charging any more?

Hello reader - it turns out that the problem went away when I updated my phone to latest iOS. It just so happens the fault occurred when iOS 14.5 was released. I cannot prove a causal relationship - though suppose it a bit of a major coincidence. Wonder if it has something to do with power management during software update disabling Qi/wireless charge? (NB: this is just my musing, I am not an expert)
