I clicked on Clear Caches but nothing happened to them. They were still there.

Did you clear caches using Develop menu?
Try "Empty caches" twice.
Enable Develop menu.

Did you clear it twice.
I went to Library Caches, all caches were removed except Apple stored caches.
As soon as Favorites are replenished caches will be restored, to help faster browsing.
Purpose of emptying caches is to remove old possibly corrupt caches.
I did that and then went to ~library/caches and all are still there. Wasn't the clear caches under develop supposed to clear them all?
