Do I understand correctly, the AirTags only makes a sound if disconnected AND if moved? I plan to leave it in my car, which I park at various spots and sometimes forget where that is, as I sometimes don't use it weeks.
It would be inconvenient, if the AiTag beeps all the time.

This is supposedly a feature that makes the tag chirp if it's been separated from the phone it was associated with for three days or more. I think the idea is that someone would hear it and then they could bring it near any iPhone to discover if the owner has reported it lost.

Since my wife went away for the week I need to take it off the dog before she has a nervous breakdown (my dog, not my wife, but my wife would have one too if she saw the dog freak out when the tag goes off!).
Mine also makes noise when moved/shock - how can this be solved?
Apple. Fix this. These are trash at this point. I don’t want it constantly beeping when it’s moved after sitting for a little while. So many people having issues.

If you can make calls in your car, your phone is linked to your car and the phone will automatically remember where it was last part.
Nope, not true. My air tag *always* chirps when it is moved.
Same happened with me today, and is recurrent with a friend of mine! If apple is not saying a word about it, it’s a problem.
Mine have been doing it for several weeks. It does it anytime that I pick the keys up. Yesterday it also did it randomly while we were driving. Every time it happens it is within a couple of feet of my phone. There seems to be rhyme or reason when it goes off.
I have Apple IDs too (very frustrating) but I'm not sure the Airtag sounds are related. It doesn't make sense. My Airtags often make noises usually when I've left my a tag in my car (which is what I do!)
After 3 or 4 attempts, I finally got to talk to a team leader who suggested that I leave Bluetooth on the whole time. His theory was that the Airtags needed Bluetooth to recognise my phone. So far, it has worked.

Sorry, but my AirTags (4) all make a noise whenever they are moved, which is annoying and a security issues, as anyone stealing my "tagged" item would be immediately aware of the tags presence!
Mine has stopped now so I suppose they changed the behaviour in the last sw updates.
Happened to me as well. Every few hours it randomly beeps even if it is right next to me
I talked to Apple Support today and they had me reset all my air tags. Creating a work ticket and they set to call back if it continues. To reset, take battery out and put it back in 5 times.
