2015 Macbook Pro Bluetooth Not Working

The bluetooth on my MacBook has gone from working to not working very frequently since last November. Some days it works perfectly fine, other days it won't turn on, won't pair, or won't allow me to reset it, sometimes it's a combination. I have to frequently reset the bluetooth module, restart my computer, reset the PRAM, and reset the NVRAM in order to get it to work. Usually it finally works after trying those things. Today, however, it is completely unresponsive even after doing all of those things. Bluetooth is now permanently off and will not turn on.


Has anyone experienced something similar? All of the troubleshooting tips that I can find from Apple and elsewhere online are not working. Is it common for the Bluetooth chip to simply fail?

Have you had a chance to check your Mac for an update to Big Sur? Updates resolve issues both big and small. Here's How to update the software on your Mac. This link will guide you through how to update your Mac. 


If the issue remains, you'll want to see if the issue happens in a new test user. Here's how to set that up in the section, "Add a user" from Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. This will see if it's just your current user having the issue or a new user. 


If the issue remains after following those steps, let us know what happens when you tested to see if it happened in a new user and if you had a chance to update your software.
