affinity photo plugins

I purchased Affinity Photo back in 2017 from the App Store. I purchased a number of Topaz products - DeNoise, Sharpen and Mask. I have been told that because I purchased through the Apple App Store these will not work as a plug in due to the version that App Store sells. Affinity brought from the makes does allow these plugins to work. No where on the Apple App Store site is there a warning that this problem exists, which I understand has been know for some time. The I have been told that Apple Apps Store does something to the code which stops the plugins working.

This is an App I understand was promoted by Apple Apps Store and yet it has been restricted in its use by them.

As these products are important to my work flow I am looking for

1) Confirmation this is correct

2) if it is then looking for a resolution

3) if it can not be resolved then a refund for the product so I can purchase direct from the manufacturer.

Make sure you followed the process to request a refund per the article here:

Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple


You should be able to report your problem from there if you purchased with the Apple ID you log in with.

Hi thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately when I try to follow your instructions it goes to the Apple page and tells me I do not have a purchase. The product was brought through iTunes and when I I do not seem to be able to find a way to request a refund.


I did purchase the product in 2017 (mmDQ8431N3) and the TOPAZ products were available at that time but I could not afford them. Last year I purchased them and when I had trouble getting them integrated as a plugin I started asking for help. Recently I was made aware ( although can not confirm) that the issue was to do with the version sold through the Apps Store due to "sandbagging".


This is the reason I am requesting a refund to allow me to purchase the Affinity Product direct from Serif.
