This is an iOS 14 related software bug fix request. Since a few updates back, I have been having issues where I can’t change the volume using the volume side buttons. This has not been the first time this has happened and it also happens on the update to iOS 14.5. Restarting the phone fixes the issue, but I would like this to be fixed in another iOS update. My volume buttons still allow me to take screenshots so they aren’t the issue.

It appears you did not read the entirety of my initial post. To be clear, the buttons work as I am able to take screenshots. When I restart my phone, the volume works for some time then I’m not sure what causes it to stop working. This requires a software fix and not a hardware fix.
I am experiencing the same issue. It’s not a physical butting issue but correlated with the beta iOS update. It’s very frustrating.
restarting the phone has no impact on the volume buttons. I can successfully take screenshots like the user that opened this ticket.
