my new iphone comes with a cable to plug into a USB port but it fors not suit as it is a new type plug. how can I convert it to go into the old type USB port?

Go buy a USBa to Lightning cable (can be had pretty cheaply) or get a USBa to USBc dongle or if you have an earlier iphone cable and plug to suit your wall socket in your house use that.


If you want to use the supplied cable then you will also need a minimum 20w USBc wall adaptor to suit your local wall socket system for an extra about £20\$20\€20.


Alternatively invest in a Qi charger plate or if you have an iPhone 12 the MagSafe plate and a suitable wall adaptor.
