The 7th item on the list is to erase the hard drive and re-install Mac OSX. But why bother going through all the other steps if you're just going to erase the hard drive and re-install the OSX?
It seems like a lot of time wasted just to erase everything and re-install.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. I presumed that just erasing the hard drive and re-installing the OS would be enough to remove all my personal info off the computer.
