Extra spaces after a letter…
When I type a capital I, my MacBook Pro adds extra spaces at the end. 3 or 4 spaces. I am not referring to a period and double spacing after a sentence. I don’t see anything under system preferences/keyboard/text.

Hello Sapp143,
We understand that extra spaces are being added unintentionally when you're entering a capital I. Have you checked if there's an accidental text replacement? The below steps direct where to find it:

Thanks!

Understood. Although it does not seem helpful, sometimes unchecking "Add period after double-space" may still make a difference. It is certainly easy enough to try, and has fixed other very odd keyboard behavior in reports here.
⚠️ However, as this is a notebook computer, we have an Elephant in the Room: your computer's battery. Because of the proximity of the battery to the keyboard and trackpad, both can be negatively affected if the battery starts to swell.
The easiest check for a swell battery is to see if the computer can sit on a known level surface without rocking. As the bottom plate is the weakest part of the case, swelling is ofter evident there first. If you suspect swelling, you must not delay in getting the computer the Apple for evaluation. Swelling can visibly increase daily, and left unaddressed, will exert enough force on the case and components to render the computer beyond practical repair.
