Hi, I’ve just bought a second hand iPad 5th gen and find the motion in the App Switcher makes it difficult to use for me. Is there a way to turn it off? This is where the app icons swap places every time you close one, so if closing several, the icons are constantly moving around.

The App Switcher will always show the most recently used App towards the right - hence you will see the windows rearrange when you force close an App Window.
Unless an App has frozen or is malfunctioning, force-closing an App is largely pointless - and detrimentally increases battery consumption. The iOS/iPadOS memory management works by keeping the state of “loaded” but “inactive” Apps in memory - this allows rapid switching between Apps. If you force-close an App, the App must be loaded again and completely re-initialised - this process consuming considerably more battery power than simply resuming from the inactive (but otherwise saved) state.

I didn’t know that, thank you. I thought I was saving battery power by closing unused apps. I’ll stop!
