Jabber and user name in Contacts
why does Jabber show up in my contact cards? I don't use it nor do I see it anywhere in my control
panel?
In that field, you can enter the username a contact uses with an instant messenger (IM) service. The dropdown includes various popular and historically popular IM services, and likely evokes nostalgia in people above a certain age! For whatever reason, Jabber is the default. It's normal to see it there and is nothing to worry about.
