Has anyone else noticed that Wallet is draining battery quickly since 14.5 update? In battery usage it shows 1 minute or less of activity for Wallet but that it contributed to around 30% of battery use over a day. I have noticed it a couple days in a row.

I'm almost certain that this is a bug with Apple Card family sharing.
My iPhone (XR on iOS 14.6) and Apple Watch (series 3 on watchOS 7.4.1) have been draining battery way faster than usual the past few days. Normally they both last two days between charges, but have been lasting only 9 hours or so. I’ve tried restarting both devices, removing background processes, and updating the watch to watchOS 7.5. The same thing is happening on my wife’s iPhone (same as mine) and watch (series 6 on watchOS 7.5), even though there's not much in common with our phone/watch usage patterns.
I then noticed on the iPhone’s 10-day battery history that Wallet had used 35% of the phone’s battery life in the past week. This wasn’t showing in the 24-hour battery history for some reason, even though the battery decline was steady throughout the day. The 10-day history showed that battery usage was close to 100% on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday but not on Saturday or before Thursday.
I then realized that I had activated Apple Card family sharing a couple weeks ago and switched to it as my primary iCloud payment card, but no purchases had been made until Apple subscriptions auto-renewed this week. Those transactions happened on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, exactly when the battery drain was happening. I use Apple Wallet NFC with other cards all the time, but haven’t used the Apple Card other than these renewals.
Based on this, it looks like there’s a bug with Apple Card family sharing that’s draining battery only on days that the card is used (or maybe only on days that it has scheduled transactions). I’ve switched all payments off of that card for now, and hopefully that will solve the problem.
It’s finally fixed! It’s finally fixed! After talking to Apple support Apple knows there was an issue and they finally fixed the wallet draining issue. Both of our phones and watches have 50% power at the end of the day. It’s about **** time
Seeing this behavior post iOS 14.7 and WatchOS 7.6. Watch is dead by about 3PM (full charged before bed), and phone is almost dead this evening. Wallet is indicating the most battery use in the Battery Health.
I am seeing the exact same behavior. Tried everything, wallet app is using 48% or more in 24 hrs; app not running.
I did a full wipe and restore that fixed things for a while. The behavior is now back — huge battery consumption associated with Wallet. Very frustrating.
iOS 14.7 doing the same thing. 1m app usage, 40% battery (it says “notifications” beneath Wallet). Overall, battery nearly dead in <12 hours post update.

My temporary relief from battery drain by turning off the double click only lasted for about 24 hours. I’m back to full drain.
Mine started with 14.6 and sharing my Apple Card with my family. I initiated the Apple Card sharing from my phone. All of my family is on 14.6. Only one of those phone has issues with battery drain. And it happens to be the only one who has used the card. But that battery drain is only 10% for using it 1 minute.
I tried turning off location for the wallet. No help. Every time I try something new I power off the phone all the way, wait 30 seconds and power it on again.
Nothing has helped so far. I do not have an Apple Watch.
I have the same problem. Used Apple Support app to get help. Diagnostics didn't find hardware issue. Wallet with family shared Apple card uses 40% of the battery. All the tips I got is dimming the screen and using WiFi instead of cellular data.

How did the Apple advisers understand and accept that this has to do with Wallet app? I have contacted chat support twice and still cannot make them agree that the issue is with Wallet app. All the help I am getting is dim the screen so battery lasts longer. The darn battery is drained by Wallet app when I am sleeping.
I don't see how Apple can fix this issue without a system update, which is probably iOS 15.
I see, thanks for letting us know that factory reset and restore does not help. I won't bother doing that.
The battery drain on iPhone and Watch is frustrating enough. Contacting support has been simply outrageous on top of that. I share screenshot of Wallet using 60% of battery with 1m screen time and suggestion is reboot and dim the screen adviser after adviser.
I wonder if person support could be different. Would they simply restart the phone for me or do some serious troubleshooting...
Update: unfortunately my weeks of no battery drain came to an end today. I didn’t change any settings. I used the card today and it immediately drained my battery from 80% down to 30% in under an hour. I have used my card in the past few weeks with no issues after removing the shared card from my kids and wife. But today that changed. No idea why.
No improvement. The drain is so noticeable and oddly isolated to Wallet.

Same behavior here. iPhone SE 2. Running 14.6. Wallet started draining battery a couple of weeks ago. Battery usage shows 1 minute of usage and 43% of battery.
Same here, today both my wife and I saw 79% usage by wallet, without the app open! Perhaps related to shared Apple Card???? Other family member saw no problem.
Wallet also seems to be draining the Apple Watch on a day that it was used for purchase and either phone was not used for purchase.
