Hey there!
Double-clicking the ZIP file will un-zip it and create a new folder with the same name at the same location.
See Zip and unzip files and folders on Mac - Apple Support for more information on zipping and un-zipping folders on macOS

I've never had trouble opening .zip files before. Downloaded it, double-clicked it, Archive Utility comes up and does it's thing, but no application opens to view contents (photos, in this case). Thought in the past, Preview typically opened, but nothing is happening.
I've double-clicked so many times, I've have several .zip and .zip.cpgz I can drag the 2 & 3.zip and the .zip 2.cpgz, etc. to the trash, correct? Just save the originals?
Thank you!
Dagny (High Sierra 10.3.6)
I downloaded Unarchiver and set it as the default for .zip and .cpgz, but when I double-click on the file all I get is a message saying the contents of the file cannot be extracted. Have any ideas?
The Dropbox link to download these photos expires in 7 days!
Thanks!
Yes, that is some strange zipping done not on a Mac, I've dealt with it many times, you just keep ending up with another zip file forever, The Unarchiver.. has always gotten around that. :)
Yikes, I can't think of anything without having access to them or a link.

I have been given a zip drive and I need to know how to open it. I've never done it before. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro laptop.
A zip drive or a zip file?
