Setting up new iPad with only SIM connection

Can I set up brand new iPad (no other devices - first time iPad - no WiFi connection) using only a new SIM card?

Setting up and activating your iPad should be able to be completed without Wi-Fi or another iOS or iPadOS device. You will need a cellular plan though as creating your Apple ID and activating the device will require a data connection either through a cellular plan or Wi-Fi. Learn more about how to Set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for the first time here.


If you run into any issues getting it set up, be sure to let us know.
