Apple Watch Under Sleep Mode Can’t show the time

After I upgraded the Apple Watch OS to 7.4 and Iphone OS to 14.5, when I turned on sleep mode, the whole screen went dark and I can’t see the time at all unless I turn the crown. I have set the option for “Show Time” to on in Sleep Mode option.

Called the Apple care hotline, but they don’t know how to solve it after one hour. Went to the Apple Genius Bar, waited one hour, one guy shows up and start googling after hearing the problem… In the end, he told me that Sleep Mode is very new to us he has no idea what’s going on… I asked him if new watch is supposed to behave like that. He has he has no idea as new watch in the Apple shop still installed old OS.

Anyone can help here? Or it is a bug in the latest OS?

Yes I see the same behaviour..., it may even be working as designed actually. Another way to check the time is to single tap on the screen. Does that still work for you too?

I guess the idea is not to disturb sleep, in all ways possible. However, if you have some suggestion how this should work, or what additional options are needed, you can submit feedback here:

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't notice that single tap will work. I am fine with that behaviour. Just that I noticed the difference before upgrading and after upgrading. So thought of asking this.
