Macbook Pro 2020 HDMI sound not working on Samsung Smart TV

I have a Samsung Smart tv UE55H6410SSXZG, I purchased an HDMI cable with an adapter to connect with my macbook. Everyhting works fine except there is no sound coming out of the tv. I tried changing the sound output from the macbook settings and there isn‘t an option to choose the tv/hdmi. Anyone has an Idea what I should do?

Hello there FootballSphere,

We understand you're not getting audio over HDMI while connecting your MacBook Pro and Samsung TV. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

To get started, not all models of Mac support audio over HDMI. You'll want to check if your Mac is one of these specific models: Send audio and video to HDMI displays through Mini DisplayPort otherwise, these steps can help provide additional information as well: Connect to HDMI from your Mac

If your Mac doesn't support audio output over HDMI, then you may need to explore other options such as AirPlay, external speakers, or another Bluetooth audio solution.

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.
