Stop File Extension Highlighting when Renaming

On my Mojave MacBook Pro, when I rename a file, it just highlights the file name.

On my Big Sur MacBook Pro, it highlights both the file name and extension.

I cannot find a Finder option to change this behavior, am I missing something or has Apple changed the behavior and I cannot do anything about it?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

Rename files, folders, and disks on Mac

Aside - you profile listing Big Sur 11.2 - there is an 11.3 available FYI
