Apple cloud vs. Verizon cloud...

How do I know if my pictures are in the Apple cloud, Verizon cloud, or both? And if they are in the apple cloud, how do I delete them from my phone without deleting them from the apple cloud?

iPhone 8, iOS 14

Anything in iCloud that you delete from your device will be deleted in iCloud. That is how iCloud works. It is a synchronization service, not separate archival storage.

Login with a web browser to www.iCloud.com and see if the photos are there. If so, then they are being stored in iCloud, not Verizon’s storage.
