Changing Apple ID, how do I retain the data (chats & media) in whatsapp with a different Apple ID?

I've been sharing my husband's Apple ID with him for the past 10 years and I recently got a new phone and decided to create my own Apple ID separate from his.

However, from my understanding with Apple Advisors, I would have to delete and redownload the apps that were downloaded previously with my husband's Apple ID, otherwise I won't be able to update the apps at all.

With that in mind, when I delete the apps and redownload them on my new phone, the data will all be erased because it is using a different Apple ID. I'm concerned about the data for my WhatsApp as I have 22GB worth of chats and media that I really need to keep and have with me.

Is there a way to backup the chats and media in WhatsApp and bring the data from one Apple ID to another Apple ID on a different phone?

You can try setting up Family Sharing between the IDs if you want to be able to share purchases made with the IDs. That will let you retain the apps you have and their data.
