FaceTime Audio still not working with external speakers...

This is a 6 month issue: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252151663. Acknowledged by Apple now, but not addressed in even the most recent update to 11.3.1. It's simple - despite all settings set correctly, M1 Mac mini and laptops will not use external speakers during FaceTime with success. Only an audio output issue, and only a FaceTime issue; no other application has difficulties. As far as the last several complaints on the above link suggest, limited to M1 architecture machines, but not a priority for Apple to FIX. That's why I've recreated this post to see if there is still a ground-swell of support asking Apple to fix the known issue - it's getting really OLD!
