how do I enable Apple Maps detail in a Windows browser

I switched my phone last year from Android to iPhone, after having switched to duckduckgo as my default search engine from google, for the same reason: I think Apple respects my privacy more and, probably more factually, depends less on harvesting my data less than google, whose whole business model is based that, does.

When I navigate to apple.com/maps from a Windows browser, there's no maps tool or service, just images of apple maps features on apple devices. Even when I click the "open maps" button, which has a link to maps.apple.com/go at the top of the page, it just reopens the same apple.com/maps page with lot of this:

I was pleased to see, after disabling bing as much as I could on my windows PCs, that DDG uses apple maps as the default mapping tool from my Windows browsers.

One thing that's missing though, in apple maps with DDG on Windows browsers is any way to change defaults or enable more features. For example, very few businesses and public facilities are identified by default on my apple maps, even though there are icons. Here's an example from near Atlanta where I live:

Mousing over or clicking on those icons does nothing. There seems to be no way to turn on more detail or layers.

I like my iphone and even got an apple watch, but come on apple, not everyone is going to get apple everything.
