iPad mini 3 power button stopped working

I have an older iPad mini 3 that runs on iOS 12.5.3 that just last night the power button stopped turning it on or off. I can hear it click so I know it isn’t jammed . Everything else works fine except if I go into the settings to shut it down that way for whatever the reason when it boots back up it will show the Apple logo act like it’s booting back up only to continue in that cycle until I plug it in the wall the battery has full charge. I don’t know what could have happened to make it just stop working I didn’t drop it or get it wet. Can anyone help
