Window size bug on macOS Big Sur

Window size on macOS Big Sur is resetting to its default setting when rebooting the MacBook.

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

Hi DiZoE,

I have the same settings and this has been a bug for Finder window size since the release of macOS Big Sur.

Updating to macOS Big Sur 11.3 and reloading Finder (Command + Option + Relaunch) fixed the problem.

Hey there!

Good question, this may be a bug, but can you first check this setting to see if it’s on or off?:

Prevent apps and windows from reopening:

In particular this section:

Likewise, this does happen across all apps? Or just particular ones?

I do think by default, apps save the preferences, but I’d check this setting first anyhow to see if the “Save Changes” option isn’t selected especially if this is happening across all apps.

Thanks Dave, glad to hear. Did you try the Relaunch Finder step before the update? If so, maybe it was a bug that was worked out, I believe an update was just issued yesterday, I still need to do, good to hear though!
