IPhone 12 Silicon Magsafe Case Peeling, not fit for purpose.

I bought the Silicom Magsafe case with my 12 Pro Max, have used it very lightly, only removed from the phone twice in 4 months, it has mainly sat on my desk. The corners of the case have peeled away, the silicon peels almost like it is disintegrating and the phone is no longer protected. I have spent 6 hours on the phone to Apple support and been told the phone case is not covered by warranty, although it says on their site that it is covered for manufacturing defects, material defects etc. I looked online and found hundreds of cases like mine with the same issue, Amazon etc are full of photos of these peeling cases. Apple support refuse to accept that it is a thing. Had I bought this case from a thrid party I could have gotten in replaced, but I foolishly bought it from the Apple store. Has anyone had any success in getting these cases replaced?
