Silent clicking on MacBook Pro Big Sur
How can I make silent trackpad clicking? There is no "silent clicking" option in system preferences? That clicking sound is really annoying..
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.3

It looks like that is the setting, so only thing I can think of is the trackpad is lose maybe making a sound?
do you just tap and it makes a sound or do you hard push?
this seems really odd, I would go ahead and reinstall the os. But I think you should go and talk to apple them selfs about this as it could be a problem that engineering should hear about.
Thanks! How should I know if MacBook is old for this option? Please find computer details attached.
Also if this sound is made technically on computer, is there options to fix this in technical level as well?
Thanks!
Agne
You have a 2017 so to my knowledge it should have this. A quick check switch off the computer and try and click on the trackpad, if it clicks it doesn’t have this and if it does then it’s a mechanical click. What is wrong with the click?
Just tried to click on trackpad when computer was switched off - no sound. So it seems this click is not integrated in computer?
It makes me and my colleagues nervous :)) Because when it is silent in office - clicking is enough hearable :(
Simple press, simple working eith pressing keyboard and trackpad. Before I was using Macbook Air 2017 and there was anything simillar to this. I tried to film that noise, but cant add video at the moment.
Mhmm, can you tell what exactly should I print screen? Is this requested information (attached)?
Im really sorry for such disturbing you! But this still do not work (attached)
Hi agneeeeee,
if you have an older MacBook pro you are not able to switch this off as it's a real button making the sounds and clicks, newer MacBooks have a haptic click.
can you take a screenshot of the settings you were pointing to before, but on your computer?
try unticking the 'force click and haptic feedback' box, does it still do it now?
Unfortunately, still do.. I already tried lot of combinations of this window check boxes. Maybe it is somewhere else some other set up?
yes it is hard to know what type of click you are on about as it shouldn't make any real sound with the haptic engin.
try going to system preferences sound and then sound effects and turning down the alert volume all the way down does this stop the clicking sound?
on the recording, there is a loud click is that the click you are referring to?
