my computer won't update to the newest software

It says I need the latest update but when I go into the software update tab in iTunes it says there are none.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which MacBook Pro model you have, click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur.
