I created a family book as a Project on my iMac iPhoto app a few years ago. When I updated my desktop it's not compatible with iPhoto anymore. I scanned in many old family photos and am making a slideshow for my grandma's funeral, how can I retrieve them?

If you have the iPhoto Library, you can use Photos to create a new Photos Library that will let you access your images.
Launch Photos with the option key held down and choose your iPhoto Library.
