Iphone back up in broken screen

I BROKE MY IPHONE SCREEN BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS WORKING FINE. I AM ABLE TO OPERATE SIRI, BUT IT SENDS A POP UP WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE BACK UP. SO IS THERE ANY WAY TO MAKE SIRI CLICK "TRUST" BUTTON ON THAT POPUP?

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Yes... one can, actually...

iCloud backup will back up every day when the phone is connected to power and WiFi...

If you don't want to use iCloud backups it will back up to iTunes / Finder every time you sync it with your computer... All you have to do is plug it in and wait a few minutes.

There is literally no excuse for not backing up on a regular basis. The fact that it could get broken, or lost, or stolen at any time without warning, is EXACTLY why you need to back up your data on a regular basis.

Buddy what if you take backup on Monday and you went out on Saturday for a beautiful vacation and click 1000s of pictures and your screen breaks, then what is the use of your weekly backup idea? lol

Having iCloud backup is the most easiest way to back up everyday, but I use iTunes, so on holidays no computer so no backup so lost of data 🥲

iCloud backup is so much easy and feasible than to back it up on computer everyday. I know there is no excuse for not backing up but it’s a tedious thing to do everyday on iTunes. And same hypothesis which I said in another reply, what if I go to a holiday and then my screen breaks, there I can’t take backup because no computer on holidays.....and there can be multiple reasons like work, school, etc where one will not get time to log in to their personal computer.

What do I do?

  1. Turn on camera upload in OneDrive •before• the vacation. (You can turn on iCloud Photos). The equivalent of twin SD cards in pro SLRs
  2. When backing up weekly to my Mac (ie assuming I get back home without dropping the phone) immediately import to Photos for Mac for post processing.
  3. Sync photos back to the phone.

It’s called planning, and professional workflow.

We see people on here saying “I have 2 years of baby photos and my phone broke, how can I get them back?” It makes me at once tearful and amazed. One was from a head of an IT company and I told him that backing up was week 1 day 2 at IT college. He didn’t come back because he just knew.

By the way did you see my comment "Get the screen fixed and the data will still be there."

Before you ask my Macbook is connected 24x7 to Time Machine with a 2TB powered disk.

1st of month I take a CCC bootable clone copy and keep it hidden in my garage. 15th of month I take another clone on one of two disks kept in a firebox in another part of the house, alternating between the two. iCloud Reminders manages the plan.

Called "3-2-1" Three backups using two methods, one kept offsite.

On vacations in a little coastal resort in east of England where there used to be poor connectivity I would take the macbook for daily photo imports from my SLR but now that iPhone camera is better than my SLR and they actually have 4G I don't bother.

I take backup every month which I should change it to everyday which I find very very tedious, because my iCloud storage is full so I will have to take back up on my computer (iTunes) everyday. And as I said in my other reply that there is a high probability of not logging in computer daily which will mean no back up that day.

And I keep coming back because there should be an easier way or an alternative to restore a phone if it gets broken. Like instead of the pop-up screen one should get OTP on authenticated mobile number or email when you connect to iTunes, though it’s another topic to discuss.

And yes one can’t expect from head of an IT company to not take backup for more than 2 years!!!
