Email multiple photos on mail app

IOS VERSION: 14.5.1

I had no difficulty emailing multiple photos i sent from my work ipad. I would select say 15/20 pics and selec send it would ask which app to send through i would select Mail app and it would automatically decompress or change size of photos to fit and send it no issue.

Now i have to open the mail app attach photos using a very small window which is NOT helpful in my case. I take photos pf calling cards i leave at doors if ppl are not home they are all the same colour. That small window which pops up asking me to select the files is useless coz i cant tell which calling card is for yesterday or today etc. It was so much easier to just send it from photos but now i have to select 5 pics as soon as you select more than 5 the mail app disappears. My outlook is still showing. I have icloud but no gmail account on this ipad. I read somewhere connect your gmail but this is not the solution i never use gmail never have on this ipad. All i want is to select the calling cards perfectly sorted by day in photos and send them via mail app WITHOUT having to manually do it.
