iPhone app icon missing from home screen but.....

I have searched for the resolution of this issue but have not been able to find exactly my case. Here it is:

• Apple "Music" app icon is missing from the home screen
• Pulling down from the top and searching for "Music" does not find the app
• Going to the App store and searching "apple music" reveals the "open" rather than "download" button and when "open" is selected, the app opens.
• The app cannot be seen on the "app library" page but if you type "music" into that search box, it is revealed and can be opened

Are there any suggestions to get the "music" icon back on the home screen given these issues?
