Problem with Opera

I keep getting the message below, but I have been unable to keep it from returning. Following the instructions accomplishes nothing.

I received the same message recently. It would come up, yes Opera opened and functioned normally. The second time, I clicked on Move to Trash. Opera still continued to function. I checked the Trash to see what was there. I found that a small (unknown) Opera related file had been placed there. I emptied the Trash and all was well. I figured that if doing so caused a problem, I could just reinstall the app. What this was all about, I have no idea.

No. That would probably fix this particular problem, but.... Opera is my favorite browser because of its speed and appearance, BUT.... Well, here are two things that it did to me: (1) It Lost all of the BOOKMARKS I had laboriously accumulated for years. This was a major blow, one that I can probably never repair. (2) Lost my Home Page (Mine was quite detailed. I suppose I can reconstruct it, but the thought is a daunting one. Anyway, there's not much more to lose, so maybe I will follow your advice, probably will.

Opera still remains my favorite browser, and the one I use most of the time. The others: Google Chrome, Safari, and Vivaldi are backup browsers for me.

I have a suggestion for you. Some time ago, there were some issues with my wife's browser, Thunderbird. They were technical issues. I found that going to the vendor's help support group was the eventual solution. I suggest that you check out Opera's support site and pose your question there, or research the issue and you may find that it has already been asked and answered. Good luck.

I didn't mention it before, but I did go to Opera with my problems. AND THEY ANSWERED, and very quickly. Unfortunately, their answers might have been useful for a computer technician but not for me., so I just gave up. Today I was hoping that I might still have my questions and their answers somewhere in my computer, but I couldn't find them. The end.

Sorry you had a not good experience. Keep in mind that the people at Opera are most likely volunteers just like we are. Some are better than others are. You can go back and work with someone else. It's the same in dealing with Apple directly. Different people are different in their knowledge and experience. I wouldn't give up yet.

I went back and was reminded that my experiences with Opera were not pleasant at all; in fact my Username there, "damnyou," is a refection of the frustration I experienced there. Nevertheless, I finally managed to get NEARER to the technical solution they once offered,. When I get to that promised land, I'll try again. Below, you will see one of my postings to Opera in search of the lost treasures.

Opera lost my bookmarks--TWICEI had a collection of dozens and dozens of my favorite sites, some of which were very important to me but which I seldom used. Then Opera upgraded it

s operating system and, POOF, all of them were gone. That was a terrible shock, but I was stupid enough to trust Opera again, so I started saving bookmarks again. Opera rewarded me by doing the same thing again, although this time they allowed me to keep a few. Is this a problem with Opera that everyone has?
