Redeem Code Not Working

Hello. I got a free four months of apple music using Groupon but when I try and redeem the code it says Error Code Redemption is currently not available. I think it might be because I am using a web browser for Apple Music instead of the app but is this the case or are redemption codes currently down for apple music?
