speak screen with Siri

Hello. My dad is a visually impaired person so I'm using Siri voice commands to open Books [Apple Books] and then Speak Screen feature to read aloud the e-books in my library. Siri does a good job opening and reading aloud the book I want. Now the problem is : I couldn't find any voice command to make Siri stop, pause, close the speak screen feature. Does anyone know how to stop/pause/close/disable the speak screen feature using Siri voice commands once it is started? Tks.

Hey there, . Thanks for reaching out on Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you're trying to do more with voice controls than you're currently using. We can definitely help!

First, a great article is Use Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and this will help you with using the Voice Control feature.

There is also a great video on the subject, released by Apple, you can check out here: https://youtu.be/80AyUCjZYZM

Additionally, you may be able to, "Swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen. Use the controls that appear to pause speaking or adjust the rate."

You'll learn more about this option here: Hear iPhone speak the screen, selected text, and typing feedback

Take care!

Thank you for your answer. Even though Voice Control cannot pause the Speak Screen feature it can surely disable it. This worked for me. Voice Control can also use another "brute force" method to make Speak Screen stop and that is by "Reboot Device" + "Tap Restart". Good thing is that once re-enabled, Speak Screen can resume the Book reading exactly from where it was before the reboot.
