Hi, whenever I connect my Apple sd card reader to my iPad Pro it will crash the iPad, it will turn off then turn back on again then repeat about a minute later, however if I use it on my iPhone 11 Pro it will work, just to add I have the latest updates on both devices, any advice please?
I have the same issue. Apple SD card reader worked until updating to iOS 14.5.1, now crashes the iPad Pro 12.9. Also made the SD card unreadable on my Mac and had to erase it and reformat.

thank you for your reply, it is now working again, I’ve had the memory card now a year and has always worked fine, but for some reason not this time,last time I used it was about a month ago, then I did the latest update (about 4 day’s ago)then assumed it was to do with this, I tried again today and still not working, but what I did do was change sd cards and it was working, I then put the original memory card back in and it’s working all of a sudden?….. I’ve had the card in and out, cleaned it but still causing issues until I swapped it with another sd card, bit of a mystery, I’m pretty tech savvy but can’t explain why I was having this issue, anyway it seems to have sorted itself but thank you again for reaching out and wanted to help, kind regards

To verify, has this SD Card Camera Reader ever worked with your iPad? If so, when was the last time you were able to connect successfully? Prior to the start of the problem, do you recall installing any new apps or making any changes to the iPad? Also, what is the exact iPadOS version on your iPad Pro? You can find this in Settings > General > About.
