I am a student at Full Sail and will be getting a MacBook Pro next month once I finish this class. If I don't open it would I be able to exchange it for the new IMac that is coming out or do I have to trade it in towards it? I will own this MacBook not the school.

Apple accepts full refunds for 14 days from the day you receive your new MacBook Pro, even if you open the box and use the Mac. After that, Apple would likely only accept trade-in via their partner, Phobio. Many users on this site dislike Phobio, as they frequently undervalue good hardware or find almost non-existent hardware issues.
If your plan is to use the MacBook Pro until the M1 24" iMac is available (about a month I think), I'd strongly recommend one of the following:

That is what I am worried about. I will be receiving it through the school but it is paid for by the tuition. My best bet will prolly be to not open and sell it. I should receive it on the 4th next month (June) I think.
