I am a Student at full sail taking classes online.

I am a student at Full Sail and will be getting a MacBook Pro next month once I finish this class. If I don't open it would I be able to exchange it for the new IMac that is coming out or do I have to trade it in towards it? I will own this MacBook not the school.

Apple accepts full refunds for 14 days from the day you receive your new MacBook Pro, even if you open the box and use the Mac. After that, Apple would likely only accept trade-in via their partner, Phobio. Many users on this site dislike Phobio, as they frequently undervalue good hardware or find almost non-existent hardware issues.


If your plan is to use the MacBook Pro until the M1 24" iMac is available (about a month I think), I'd strongly recommend one of the following:


  • If you purchase the MacBook Pro directly from a retailer, and their return policy permits it, return the Mac to them for a full refund.
  • If a full refund isn't possible, sell the MacBook Pro for nearly full price through a reputable third-party site of your choice.
