NFC stopped working on SE 2020

My NFC capability suddenly stopped working and I can’t find a way to troubleshoot it. It worked fine for a year previously (Apple Pay and Freestyle Libre for blood sugars). It happened overnight while lying on a table (it wasn’t acute physical damage) and was before the most recent iOS 14 update (I updated it the next day after noticing the NFC wasn’t working). I tested Apple Pay at 2 different stores. I hard rebooted the phone a couple times, signed out and back into my Apple ID, and reinstalled the Libre app. No dice. Is it likely hardware?
