can someone remotely hack my iphone and steal my information such as pictures or other data through safari?

actually i was talking to someone random on talkwithstranger and he/she sent me a picture which i opened and after that the person said a really weird thing which made me think that he/she has hacked my phone by doing this.

i had not given safari the permission to access my photos or my file and folders app

is it possible for the person to hack my phone and steal data?

after that i immediately closed my browser and cleared all the website history and data and also deleted that certain image.
