exclamation point in cloud storage

I have just upgraded to 2TB and yet there are files with the cloud/exclamation point in the files. There's plenty of space and I had deleted those large files before upgrading. Yet still, there are these clouds/exclamation points. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello Dubaiuser,

We understand you upgraded to the 2TB iCloud storage plan after deleting large files. We also understand you're seeing cloud status icons in the form of clouds and exclamation points. We're happy to help explain what each icon means, and determine the best solution.

Even if all files displaying a cloud icon aren't music files, please see how to Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC.

A cloud icon with an exclamation point indicates there was an error uploading the file, or that the file is corrupt. A dotted-line cloud icon indicates the file may be waiting to upload. If these are song files and you're using Apple Music or iTunes Match, the dotted-line cloud icon can also mean the song can't be matched, or that it is no longer available in the Apple Music catalog. If these are music files displaying the cloud icons you're seeing, please see the "Learn more" section in the link above for steps on how to resolve these.

If these are files you're using with iCloud Drive, please see the "If your files don't update to iCloud Drive" section in how to Access iCloud Drive files from your iPhone and other devices.

If you're seeing cloud icons for other files not mentioned above, please let us know what type of files this is happening with, as well as the exact macOS Big Sur version you're using. This information will help us determine how to proceed.

Cheers!
