hello. i have been noticing something strange with my macbook air. so i open google chrome and then when i search something up it opens the yahoo search engine. it has happened twice. i really need help or could apple services send me a link or anything so that i can get rid of a possibility malware virus? thank you

MRT removes malware upon receiving updated information, and it continues to check for infections on restart and login. MRT doesn’t automatically reboot the Mac.

If the above posted step doesn't help:
1. Remove adware installed on your Mac..
Run the latest release of Malwarebytes for Mac to remove malware/adware, if installed on your Mac.
For instructions: Install Malwarebytes for Mac v4 Uninstall Malwarebytes for Mac
Click the “FREE DOWNLOAD” button.
Click the “Scan ” button. Once done, quit Malwarebytes for Mac.
Restart the computer and relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.
Scan for Malware again.
Additional steps if necessary.

4. Remove unknown extensions: Safari > Preferences > Extensions
