Just fixed this. On the Playlist you want to send:

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; select it
  • Hit Done

The "Share Playlist" option should now appear when you hit the three dot ellipsis.

If you haven't set up your Apple Music profile you may need to do that first. To do that, go to your "Listen Now" page on Apple Music, hit the Face button on upper right and follow prompts.

I think sharing our playlists on our Apple Music profile is the price we now pay to share them...but you can control who sees your Apple Music profile by hitting Edit on your profile homepage and selecting "People You Approve" under "Who Can Follow Your Activity".

I was suffering from the same problem as many users. The answer lies in two responses.

  1. Press the 3 dots.
  2. Click edit.
  3. A slider button appears below the album images to share.
  4. Turn the share on my profile. DONE. If this doesn’t work, go to Step 5.
  5. Go to “Listen Now”
  6. Click the image in the upper right corner.
  7. Set up your profile. (Choose your name, etc.)
  8. Complete the setup process.
  9. CLOSE APPLE MUSIC
  10. Reopen Apple Music, click the … in the playlist you want to share.
  11. Click edit.
  12. A slider button appears below the image of the album. Make sure it’s on.
  13. Share away!

Hopefully this helps some people!

Got it working on iO 14.7.1

On the Playlist you want to share

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; select it
  • Hit Done

At this point the "Share Playlist" is still missing - Now we need to un toggle "Show on My Profile and in Search"

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; unselect it !
  • Hit Done

The "Share Playlist" option should now appear when you hit the three dot ellipsis.

Enjoy

I found something that might be helpful to some: The addition of certain songs on a playlist will make the playlist non-shareable.

Specifically, over time, and through the vagaries of iTunes, we have collected multiple “copies” of several songs. But even though the song shows up two, three or four times, some of the copies are apparently not attached to any files.

As soon as I add one of the songs to a playlist, that playlist loses the “share” pulldown option and disappears from my iPhone. I can reproduce this multiple times with different songs.

So as I went to rebuild my playlist, I had to pay attention to which icons show up on the right side of the song list, next to the songs I wanted to add. If I get a little round red icon, I delete that copy and use a different one. As long as I stick to that, no problems.

I found the answer!!! This fixed the missing share button for me. It has something to do with the version iOS you created the playlist on and the current iOS. To fix:

-Create a new play list and name it whatever you want (it could be the same name of the list you are about to import).

-Go to the playlist you want to share, tap the three dots, select Add to Playlist.

-Select the NEW play list you just made.

All of the songs from your old playlist will be imported to the new playlist and the share button will be there.

I delete the old playlist to stay neat.

I hope this helps.

I'm running 15.2.1 and it looks like you now have to create a profile in Apple Music. Open Apple Music and click on "Listen Now" in bottom left corner. Then click on the profile icon in top right corner. Follow the prompts to set up your profile with Name and Username, add friends to follow, etc. Select who you want to follow your activity (Everyone or People you Approve). Select the playlists you would like to share and at the bottom turn "Listening To" on or off. From your profile, in the top right corner, tap the (three dots) "..." and select "Share Profile".

You have to set up your Listen now/Apple Music profile. Then add the playlists you want to share to the music you are sharing list. Just hit the listen now and click the person icon in the corner. Then go to profile and set up. You can skip the part where it asks you to invite friends and simply hit the continue button. After you do this you can share directly from that list in listen now.

The "Share" option is no longer available on your playlist if you've updated your iPhone or iPad to 14.5.1. While if your device is running a version before 14.5.1, chances are that you can share your playlist as you want. The steps of doing this are shown below.

  1. Open your Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap "Playlists" in the "Library" tab.
  3. Scroll down to find the playlist you want to share, and then tap or click to open it.
  4. Hit the three dots in the upper right corner of your playlist.
  5. Tap "Share Playlist...," and then select an option.

On iOS devices running a version after 14.5.1, you can use some third-party transfer tool to export your playlist first and then with your friends. Though this might be a little bit time-consuming, it is indeed helpful. If you don't know which tool to use, consider using this iPhone data transfer tool - EaseUS MobiMover to get the job done.

ooen Your music app, click on listen now, click your profile in the upper left hand corner create a profile, after you click on the red link to create a profile or whatever color it is, it’ll let you select which playlist you want visible I believe, who can/cannot follow you, and you will be allowed to share your playlist! It only took me 45 years to figure this out lol hope it helps!
