As above is saying, resetting SMC could solve the issue.

If the diagnostics do not report an issue with the cooling system, then the cooling system is most likely fine (or at least functional enough not to be the source of the problem).
To look for possible software issues run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.
Try disconnecting all external devices in case one of them is causing the problem.
Not the SMC. Reset it multiple times. Took the unit in for service. It is considered 'vintage'. Apple itself won't work on it. Went to MicroCenter.
